Little Steps for a Greener Future

How SPK's Recycling Initiative is Making a Difference

This World Environment Day, June 5th, SPK is teaming up with Red Nose to make a positive impact on the environment. From May 22nd to July 5th, a special clothing collection bin will be available at the Kindergarten, where SPK families can drop off gently used clothes and small household items.

At SPK, we're committed to reducing our ecological footprint and engaging with our community to make a difference. Red Nose, Australia's leading authority on safe sleep and pregnancy advice, as well as bereavement support, runs a social enterprise that collects and recycles pre-loved clothes and small household items in Victoria and South Australia. The proceeds from reselling these items through their partnership with Savers support vital programs for families and help save little lives. Participating in this clothing drive not only supports Red Nose but also helps to reduce landfill waste and CO2 emissions. Last year alone, donations to Red Nose diverted an impressive 1.4 million tons of waste from landfills.
